Franco Saliola est professeur à l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) et ancien directeur du laboratoire LACIM (Laboratoire d’Algèbre, de Combinatoire et d’Informatique Mathématique). Il a obtenu son doctorat en 2006 à Cornell University sous la direction de Kenneth S. Brown. Ses recherches portent sur la combinatoire algébrique, un domaine très actif qui combine des techniques algébriques et combinatoires pour étudier des problèmes en mathématiques et dans d’autres domaines scientifiques. Son programme de recherche s’est développé à partir d’explorations de structures algébriques liées aux marches aléatoires sur les arrangements d’hyperplans; et il s’est naturellement étendu pour inclure la théorie de la représentation des monoïdes finis, des groupes symétriques et linéaires généraux, et des structures algébriques connexes. Il est grand adepte de l’exploration informatique dans la recherche mathématique, ce qu’il a intégré dans nombreuses facettes de son programme de recherche.

Benoit Durand-Jodoin has been working as a university administrator since 2012. He worked at UQAM from 2012-2016, where initially served as Administrative Attaché at the School of Visual and Media Arts, and following that, took on the role of overseeing the university’s audiovisual investments and systems installations for teaching and research. He joined the CRM team in 2022. Benoit holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in project management from UQAM.

Maxime Fortier Bourque is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Université de Montréal. He earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the City University of New York (CUNY) in 2015, after completing his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Laval University. Before joining the University of Montreal in 2021, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto and served as an assistant professor at the University of Glasgow. His research, which falls within the fields of geometry and analysis, has received international recognition.

Octav Cornea obtained his PhD in 1993 from the University of Rochester and is a Professor at the Université de Montréal since January 2003. He works in topology and geometry. He was Research Professor at the MSRI (Berkeley) in the Fall of 2009 and a member of the IAS (Princeton) in 2015-2016 when he also held a Simons Fellowship from the Simons Foundation. He was an invited speaker at the Inaugural Mathematical Congress of the Americas in 2013. He served as Director of the CRM from 2021 to 2025.

Galia Dafni is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Concordia University, and Managing Editor of CRM publications. She received her PhD from Princeton University in 1993, and held postdoctoral positions at the University of California, Berkeley, and Northwestern University, before coming to Montreal in 1998. Her research is in the area harmonic analysis and function spaces. She has extensive experience as a mentor of young mathematicians at the undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral level, and has served as both Undergraduate Program Director and Graduate Program Director of her department, as well as on the Women in Mathematics Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Publications Committee of the Canadian Mathematical Society.

Nadia Lafrenière is an Assistant Professor at Concordia University and holds a Ph.D. in combinatorial mathematics from UQAM. She loves sharing her passion for mathematics with her students and the general public. She created the “Maths en ville” walking tour for Coeur des Sciences and served as a mathematics columnist for the radio show *L’oeuf ou la poule*. She is involved with the journal *Accromath* and regularly gives lectures at CEGEPs.
