James Maynard appointed Regius Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford
The CRM warmly congratulates James Maynard, a former CRM-ISM postdoctoral fellow who worked under the supervision of Professor Andrew Granville (Université de Montréal), on his appointment to the prestigious position of Regius Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford.
We would also like to highlight James Maynard’s longstanding ties to the CRM and the Montreal mathematics community. In addition to receiving the Fields Medal in 2022, he shared the 2023 Frontiers of Science Award with Dimitris Koukoulopoulos (University of Montreal) for their paper “On the Duffin-Schaeffer Conjecture.” He also delivered a Grande conference publique at the CRM on the magic of prime numbers in September 2022.
