Call for proposals and applications 2025 under the CIRM – CRM cooperation program

Collaboration Agreement between the CRM and CIRM

We are launching proposals for two types of projects:

1. Team Research/Residency program

This program supports collaborative research projects carried out by teams made up of one or two researchers assigned to a laboratory in France and one or two members of the CRM.

A team supported under this program will benefit from a stay at CIRM and a stay at the CRM, each lasting between one and two weeks, over 18 months for both stays. The host institute will cover the visitors’ accommodation costs according to its terms and conditions.

A proposal for such an event consists of:

  • CVs of team members,
  • a two-page summary of the research project, indicating the dates of the planned visits.

The proposal must be submitted to crmfrance@crm.umontreal.ca and colloque@cirm-math.fr by one of the team members who will act as project coordinator by June 15 for programs starting on October 15, 2025, and by December 15 for programs starting on April 15, 2026.

2.  Mirror conferences

A “mirror conference” is a conference that takes place at two different sites: some of the participants will stay at the CIRM, and others at the CRM. Some of the presentations in one center are broadcast live in the other. A three-day event involving around ten researchers from each side is the format expected. The host institute of each group will cover the visitors’ accommodation expenses according to its terms and conditions.

A proposal for such an event consists of:

  • the CVs of two principal organizers (one of whom is a member of the CRM and the other is based in a laboratory in France),
  • a short scientific motivation text of about two pages,
  • a preliminary program containing the names of potential participants,
  • the planned dates of the event,
  • a provisional budget.

The proposal must be submitted to projets@crm.umontreal.ca and to colloque@cirm-math.fr by one of the main organizers by June 15 for a program starting on October 15, depending on the capacity of the two centers.
One program will be selected each year.
