Alexandre Girouard receives the 2026 Cathleen Synge Morawetz Prize
His groundbreaking work in spectral geometry, particularly his use of homogenization methods to address classical problems, has led to major advances, including the resolution of the Weinstock isoperimetric problem and new sharp bounds for Steklov eigenvalues.
A prolific author in leading international journals and recipient of Université Laval’s Prix Lumière in 2025, he also plays an important role in the mathematical community through his involvement in scientific leadership and the organization of research events.
