Gilles Brassard Receives the 2025 A.M. Turing Award
Gilles Brassard, a professor at the Université de Montréal and a long‑standing regular member of the CRM, has been awarded the prestigious 2025 A.M. Turing Award jointly with his collaborator Charles H. Bennett. Recognized by the Association for Computing Machinery, they are honored for their foundational contributions to quantum computing and secure cryptography.
A pioneer of the BB84 protocol, Brassard revolutionized the way information can be transmitted with absolute security, paving the way for technologies that now lie at the heart of a rapidly growing industry.
