The CRM welcomes Maxime Fortier Bourque to its team as Scientific Deputy Director
Maxime Fortier Bourque is an associate professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Université de Montréal. He earned his Ph.D. in mathematics from the City University of New York (CUNY) in 2015, after completing his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Laval University. Before joining the University of Montreal in 2021, he completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Toronto and served as an assistant professor at the University of Glasgow. His research, which falls within the fields of geometry and analysis, has received international recognition.
Mr. Fortier Bourque is distinguished by his commitment to the mathematical community. In particular, he serves as an editor for the journal Conformal Geometry and Dynamics and actively participates in organizing various scientific events.
He possesses the scientific expertise, leadership, and vision necessary to successfully fulfill this role and to fully contribute to the CRM’s reputation. His two-year term will begin on July 1, 2026, and we wish him every success in his new position.
