CRM–ISM Undergraduate Research Scholarships- Call for applications

Each year, the Institut des sciences mathématiques (ISM), in collaboration with the Centre de recherches mathématiques (CRM), offers undergraduate research scholarships to support research internships in the mathematical sciences. Scholarship recipients are supervised by postdoctoral fellows, doctoral students, or early-career faculty members. The program enables undergraduate students to gain initial research experience in an academic setting, while providing early-career researchers with valuable experience in research supervision often a key step in their professional development.
Duration
Scholarships are awarded for a period of two to four months.
Stipend
$2,000 per month for the duration of the scholarship.
Funding
The ISM and CRM jointly contribute $1,000 per month for the full duration of the scholarship. The remaining funding must be provided through other research funds (individual researchers, research laboratories, etc.).
Deadline
The application deadline is March 13, 2026.

Required documents

A description of the research project, including a work plan and timeline. The duration of the scholarship must be clearly indicated.

Contact information (affiliation and email address) for all persons involved.

A copy of academic transcripts.

A letter of recommendation, sent separately, from the proposed supervisor or the professor providing the funding, confirming the applicant’s ability to carry out the research project.

A financial commitment from the professor providing the matching funds.
A second letter of recommendation may be submitted, but is not required.
Other conditions

A research report must be submitted at the end of the scholarship period.
