The Centre de Recherche Mathématiques (CRM), Montréal, Canada, and the Institute for Mathematical Research (FIM), ETH Zurich, Switzerland, are opening a call for proposals for a tandem workshop to be held simultaneously at the CRM and the FIM in February, March, November or December 2025.
Such a workshop will be held in a hybrid format, with 10 to 20 participants present at each location. It can last three to five days and consists of research presentations during one half of the day (morning in Montréal, afternoon in Zurich, live-streamed for the audience at the other institute). The other half of the day is dedicated to focused research groups on site (approximately two hours).
Each institute will provide local support and cover travel expenses for its participants according to its own standard regulations.
Applications should come from a team of organizers (at least one from CRM community and one from ETH Zurich), who will be present in person at each centre during the workshop.
The application (one single pdf file) should include:
– A proposed provisional schedule for the tandem workshop
Applications should be handed in to either one of the institute’s directors starting with 31 October 2024, at least three months before the planned event.
