CRM-ISM Postdoctoral Fellowships

CRM-ISM postdoctoral fellowships are awarded to promising researchers who have recently earned or are expected to earn a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences. This fellowship allows the recipient to devote most of their time to research under the supervision of a professor at one of the CRM and ISM partner universities. If fellows wish to teach, they must apply for paid teaching assignments.

Eligibility Criteria

In accordance with the regulations of the Quebec Ministry of Higher Education, an individual may hold postdoctoral status for a maximum of 5 years from the date of obtaining a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Appointment as a CRM-ISM postdoctoral fellow may not extend beyond the end date of eligibility for postdoctoral researcher status.

Please note that preference will be given to individuals who are not currently enrolled at a university that is a member of the CRM and the ISM. However, this is not an eligibility requirement.

The CRM is a national research center for the mathematical sciences. It comprises thirteen research laboratories and organizes a wide range of scientific activities each year that involve international participation.

The Institute for Mathematical Sciences is a consortium of eight Quebec universities that promotes education and collaboration in the mathematical sciences:

• Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières

• Bishop’s University 

Program Benefits

• A two-year postdoctoral fellowship
• A stipend of at least $60,000 annually
• A travel fund of at least $1,000 per year
• The possibility to teach with additionnal pay
