2022 CRM-ISM-AMQ Prize awarded to Semyon Dyatlov
The 2022 CRM-ISM-AMQ Prize is awarded to Semyon Dyatlov (MIT) for the paper “Around quantum ergodicity” published in the special issue of the Annales Mathématiques du Québec in honour of Alexander Shnirelman’s 75th birthday.
The paper provides a beautiful overview of the field of quantum ergodicity, from its origins to the cutting edge recent advances, to which the author has contributed in a major way.
Semyon Dyatlov obtained his Ph.D. in 2013 at the University of California, Berkeley. Before joining the faculty at MIT he was a Clay Mathematical Institute research fellow. Professor Dyatlov is one of the world leaders in the fields of microlocal analysis and quantum chaos. His research has been recognized by numerous awards and honours, including the International Association of Mathematical Physics Early Career Award, a Sloan fellowship and an invitation to speak at the 2022 International Congress of Mathematicians.
