Call for applications: Junior research visitor, CRM, special program on Universal Statistics in Number Theory
We’re inviting applications from junior researchers to attend and participate in a special program in “Universal Statistics in Number Theory”, organized at the Centre de recherches mathématiques in Montreal from March 2 to July 4, 2026 by Professors Chantal David, Andrew Granville, Dimitris Koukoulopoulos, Matilde Lalín and Carlo Pagano.
The program consists of two parts, each about two months long. The first half will be mainly focused on arithmetic statistics. The second half will be mainly focused on analytic and probabilistic number theory. There will also be a grad school in between the two halves, running from May 4 to 15, 2026.
We welcome applications from advanced graduate students, postdocs and recently hired assistant professors. Please submit the following material along with your application:
- CV, including a list of publications;
- Cover letter, stating in which half of the program you prefer to participate and why;
- Research statement of at most two pages plus bibliography;
- One letter of recommendation.
The deadline for submitting applications is June 15, 2025.
