Get Together in Celebration of Women in the Mathematical Sciences

We are happy to have as distinguished guest Professor Erica Moodie from McGill University, who will also be the speaker in the Colloque des sciences mathématiques du Québec from 15:30 to 16:30 the same day.

International Women in Math Day – Film Projection and Panel Discussion

May 13, 2023, at 6 pm

The event will begin with a screening of the film Secrets of the Surface: The Mathematical Vision of Maryam Mirzakhani. Mirzakhani is the first woman Fields Medalist and her birthday, May 12, was chosen to be International Women in Mathematics Day.

A panel discussion will follow the film. The panel will consist of several women mathematicians / statisticians of different backgrounds and at different levels of their careers (professor, postdoc, student) who will share their stories with the audience.
