Scientific Deputy Director Search

The CRM is seeking a Scientific Deputy Director for a two-year term beginning July 1, 2026.

The main duties of the Deputy Deputy Director of the CRM are to work with the Director to establish strategic directions and long-term planning and to ensure the scientific coordination of the institute’s programs. The person in this position automatically becomes a member of the CRM’s Management Committee, participates in Local and International Scientific Committees, and occasionally represents the CRM at international and national meetings.

The qualifications expected for this position are:

• a well-established international reputation in mathematical research
• skills and solid experience in scientific management
• a good knowledge of the Canadian and Quebec research ecosystems, including mathematical communities and institutional components
• the ability to communicate and write fluently in French and English

The Deputy Deputy Director shall receive annually, subject to approval by their university, two courses releases as well as a $10,000 research fund.
