This distinction is given annually by Acfas, the principal French-language learned society in Canada, in recognition of a researcher\u2019s work in physics, mathematics, computer science or engineering. The award, which is sponsored by the Quebec Department of Economy, Innovation and Energy, has only been awarded a few times to a mathematical scientist since its creation in 1953. Luc received his prize at the 78<sup>th<\/sup> Gala of Acfas, on November 24.
