She earned her PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2019 and subsequently held positions at the Institute for Advanced Study, UCLA, and NYU.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ms-outlook-mobile-reference-message skipProofing\">Her groundbreaking work culminated in the resolution, with Joshua Zahl, of the three-dimensional Kakeya conjecture, a landmark achievement with far-reaching implications for Fourier analysis, partial differential equations, and geometric measure theory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ms-outlook-mobile-reference-message skipProofing\">The CRM had the privilege of welcoming Hong Wang as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/en\/activities\/#\/type\/activity\/id\/4050\"><b>2025 Nirenberg Lecturer in Geometric Analysis<\/b><\/a>, strengthening the connection between her pioneering research and the Montreal mathematical community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ms-outlook-mobile-reference-message skipProofing\"><b>Jacob Tsimerman<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"ms-outlook-mobile-reference-message skipProofing\">A professor at the University of Toronto, Jacob Tsimerman is internationally recognized for his contributions to number theory, arithmetic geometry, and transcendence theory. Awarded the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/en\/activities\/#\/type\/activity\/id\/3569\"><b>2017 Andr\u00e9-Aisenstadt Prize<\/b><\/a>\u00a0by the CRM, he has produced a series of breakthroughs that have reshaped modern arithmetic geometry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ms-outlook-mobile-reference-message skipProofing\">Among his most influential achievements are his decisive contributions to the proof of the Andr\u00e9-Oort conjecture for Shimura varieties, as well as major advances in functional transcendence and algebraic geometry.
