Renowned for his innovative work in arithmetic statistics, he has distinguished himself through two major breakthroughs achieved in collaboration with Peter Koymans: resolving Stevenhagen’s conjecture on the negative Pell equation and providing a complete solution to Hilbert’s tenth problem over arbitrary finitely generated infinite rings.

His research, marked by technical depth and originality, has reshaped important areas of contemporary number theory. A recipient of the 2025 André‑Aisenstadt Prize of the CRM and the 2025 Mathematical Congress of the Americas Prize, he continues to build an impressive international profile through influential publications and numerous invited lectures worldwide. He is also one of the organizers of the thematic program ‘Universal Statistics in Number Theory’, which will take place from March 2 to July 3, 2026.

Learn more

[55,82

post-21192","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","category-prizes
["GET
