Detailed procedures for proposing a scientific event at the CRM<\/h1>\n

The CRM issues a call for proposals for high-level scientific and outreach activities in mathematical sciences and statistics<\/p>\n

Thematic Program<\/h6>\n

We are currently soliciting letters of intent for thematic programs to be held in 2027 or later years<\/strong>. Letters of intent should be submitted by October 15 to proposals@crm.umontreal.ca<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n

General Program<\/h6>\n

This framework concerns scientific activities such as workshops, conferences, schools, etc., as well as outreach activities, independent of a thematic program. The deadlines for submission of proposals in this setting are February 1, June 1 and October 1 of each year.<\/p>\n

Requirements<\/h6>\n

All activities must be of clear scientific interest and relevant to the state of the art in the respective topics, with particular attention to the research areas of the CRM members. This aspect must be detailed in the proposal.<\/p>\n

Inclusion and diversity\u00a0<\/span><\/b>
\n<\/span><\/h6>\n

The CRM\u00a0 is committed to taking into account diversity and systemic and individual barriers to access (e.g., related to ethnicity, gender, disability) when developing its programming.<\/p>\n

The CRM has set a general target of 40% of key speakers (organizers, speakers, guests – depending on context) from historically underrepresented minorities in the mathematical sciences and young researchers. We encourage organizing teams to make efforts in this direction and to explain their approach in their event proposals. Any funded activity is eligible for additional financial support of about 10% of the normally allocated budget to support efforts in this direction.<\/p>\n
