CRM Personnel<\/h1>\n

The management of the Centre de recherches math\u00e9matiques is composed of a director and deputy directors, selected from among its scientific personnel. While ensuring the sustainability of the CRM, the members of the management team manage its main components, including research support, scientific activities, publications and communications, partnerships and special projects. The directorate relies on the support of a seasoned administrative team to manage the day-to-day activities of the CRM.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\nBiographical note<\/summary>\n

Franco Saliola est professeur \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al (UQAM) et ancien directeur du laboratoire LACIM (Laboratoire d\u2019Alg\u00e8bre, de Combinatoire et d\u2019Informatique Math\u00e9matique). Il a obtenu son doctorat en 2006 \u00e0 Cornell University sous la direction de Kenneth S. Brown. Ses recherches portent sur la combinatoire alg\u00e9brique, un domaine tr\u00e8s actif qui combine des techniques alg\u00e9briques et combinatoires pour \u00e9tudier des probl\u00e8mes en math\u00e9matiques et dans d\u2019autres domaines scientifiques. Son programme de recherche s\u2019est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u00e0 partir d\u2019explorations de structures alg\u00e9briques li\u00e9es aux marches al\u00e9atoires sur les arrangements d\u2019hyperplans; et il s\u2019est naturellement \u00e9tendu pour inclure la th\u00e9orie de la repr\u00e9sentation des mono\u00efdes finis, des groupes sym\u00e9triques et lin\u00e9aires g\u00e9n\u00e9raux, et des structures alg\u00e9briques connexes. Il est grand adepte de l\u2019exploration informatique dans la recherche math\u00e9matique, ce qu\u2019il a int\u00e9gr\u00e9 dans nombreuses facettes de son programme de recherche.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

\nBiographical note<\/summary>\n

Benoit Durand-Jodoin has been working as a university administrator since 2012. He worked at UQAM from 2012-2016, where initially served as Administrative Attach\u00e9 at the School of Visual and Media Arts, and following that, took on the role of overseeing the university’s audiovisual investments and systems installations for teaching and research. He joined the CRM team in 2022. Benoit holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al and a master’s degree in project management from UQAM.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

\nBiographical note<\/summary>\n

Galia Dafni is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Concordia University, and Managing Editor of CRM publications. She received her PhD from Princeton University in 1993, and held postdoctoral positions at the University of California, Berkeley, and Northwestern University, before coming to Montreal in 1998. Her research is in the area harmonic analysis and function spaces. She has extensive experience as a mentor of young mathematicians at the undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral level, and has served as both Undergraduate Program Director and Graduate Program Director of her department, as well as on the Women in Mathematics Committee, the Board of Directors, and the Publications Committee of the Canadian Mathematical Society.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

\nBiographical note<\/summary>\n

Octav Cornea obtained his PhD in 1993 from the University of Rochester and is a Professor at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al since January 2003. He works in topology and geometry. He was Research Professor at the MSRI (Berkeley) in the Fall of 2009 and a member of the IAS (Princeton) in 2015-2016 when he also held a Simons Fellowship from the Simons Foundation. He was an invited speaker at the Inaugural Mathematical Congress of the Americas in 2013. He served as Director of the CRM from 2021 to 2025.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n

\nBiographical note<\/summary>\n

Professor Nasri is a biostatistics faculty member of the D\u00e9partement de m\u00e9decine sociale et pr\u00e9ventive of Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al. Professor Nasri is an FRQS Junior 1 Scholar in Artificial Intelligence in Health and Digital Health. She holds an NSERC Discovery Grant in Statistics for time series dependence modelling for complex data. Professor Nasri and her team are working mainly on developing statistical learning methods, artificial intelligence methods and mathematical models for infectious diseases and public health threats related to climate change. Professor Nasri completed a PhD and a MSc at INRS-ETE on developing Statistical approaches for extremes related to Climate change and an Ing\u00e9nieur d\u2019\u00c9tat degree (eq. MSc) in Statistics at INSEA. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship in theoretical statistics at McGill and HEC Montr\u00e9al funded by the FRQNT, CANSSI and GERAD. She authored and co-authored several papers on time series, spatial dependence, multivariate statistics, compartmental modelling, text mining, and evidence synthesis.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
