Scientific Deputy Director Search<\/h2>\n

The <\/span>Centre de recherches math\u00e9matiques <\/span><\/i>(CRM) <\/span>is dedicated to excellence in research and training in the mathematical sciences and their applications for more than fifty years. The CRM hosts, organizes and supports scientific activities including thematic programs, research workshops and summer schools. In addition, it coordinates the activities of its research laboratories and supports several high-profile visitor and exchange programs as well as outreach activities, distinguished lecture series, prizes and publications. Housed at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al and having as other institutional partners Concordia University, l’Universit\u00e9 Laval, McGill University, l’Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al and l’Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke, the CRM receives major funding from NSERC, the FRQNT and the Simons Foundation, and collaborates with a multitude of national and international partners.<\/span><\/p>\n

The main task of the CRM Scientific Deputy Director is to provide scientific guidance and coordination for the programs of the Centre. \u00a0The Deputy Director is an ex-officio member of the\u00a0Management Committee of the Centre and collaborates with the Director\u00a0to establish long term planification and strategic goals. The Deputy Director occasionally\u00a0represents the CRM in international and national meetings, in coordination with the Director.<\/span><\/p>\n

The qualifications expected for the position are: a well-established international research reputation in the mathematical sciences;\u00a0evidence of scientific management capacity and experience; some knowledge of the Canadian and Quebec research ecosystems;\u00a0ability to communicate and write fluently in French and English;\u00a0and good knowledge of the Quebec mathematical community and its institutional components. The starting date for this position is July 1<\/span>st<\/span>, 2024. The Deputy Director mandate is for two years, renewable.<\/span><\/p>\n
