Partnerships<\/h1>\n

The CRM collaborates with many partners, both in and outside Quebec, in order to fulfill its mission of excellence in research and training.<\/p>\n<\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Institutional Partners<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
The CRM is an inter-university research centre made up of six institutional partners: Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, Concordia University, Universit\u00e9 Laval, McGill University, Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, and Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke. Its host institution, Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, provides the CRM with its office space and an operating grant. The institutional partners participate in the CRM\u2019s governance and its funding, in particular by supporting the CRM\u2019s laboratories. They welcome numerous CRM members and organize CRM activities under their own roofs.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Academic Partners <\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>
HEC Montr\u00e9al, the Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Ottawa and Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Trois Rivi\u00e8res (UQTR) are academic partners of the CRM within the framework of collaborative agreements. They welcome members of the CRM and participate in the financing of the CRM.<\/p>\n

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Institutional Collaborations<\/span><\/a><\/h4><\/div>

These\u00a0institutions\u00a0collaborate\u00a0with\u00a0the CRM in joint programs and\u00a0activities,\u00a0usually\u00a0on the basis of\u00a0specific\u00a0multi-year\u00a0agreements\u00a0or\u00a0grants.<\/p>\n

The CRM collaborates actively with the Institut des sciences math\u00e9matiques (ISM) on all matters concerning the training of students and postdoctoral fellows, the promotion of mathematics education and research to the general public, and the relationship between universities, colleges, and schools.<\/p>\n

Other collaborations are those with IVADO, the Network for Computing and Mathematical Modeling (ncm2), GERAD, UNIQUE, and CIRANO. Sponsored by the Ministry of Finance of Qu\u00e9bec, and carried out in collaboration with CIRANO, the En Avant Math! initiative empowers the CRM in its efforts to foster and promote mathematics in Qu\u00e9bec, whether in the field of education, of training or in the community.<\/p>\n

\nCanada<\/b><\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n

At the Canadian level, the CRM is present in the forums where national science policies in the mathematical sciences are discussed, and organizes and supports research activities across the country.<\/p>\n

The CRM coordinates certain activities with the Fields Institute for Research in Mathematical Sciences, the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS), the Atlantic Association for Research in the Mathematical Sciences (AARMS), and the Banff International Research Station (BIRS).<\/p>\n

With the Fields Institute, PIMS and AARMS, the CRM supports programs of the Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS). The CRM also collaborates with the Statistical Society of Canada (SSC) and the Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) in the awarding of annual prizes.<\/p>\n

\nInternational<\/b><\/summary>\n
<\/div>\n

The CRM is highly visible on the international scene. The main institutional collaborator of the CRM is the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), which has an International Research Laboratory (IRL) at the CRM, headed by Emmanuel Royer since september 2024. The IRL provides financial support for visits of French researchers to the CRM, and the organization of meetings and workshops. Thanks to an agreement between the CNRS and the Fonds de recherche du Qu\u00e9bec (FRQ), support from the FRQ also allows members of the CRM to visit France to collaborate with their French colleagues.<\/p>\n

The CRM with PIMS and AARMS have a partnership agreement with the American Mathematical Society (AMS) to organize a plenary address and an associated special session at the Joint Mathematics Meeting (JMM). In addition, the CRM has a publishing agreement with the AMS.<\/p>\n

The Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (SLMath, formerly MSRI) is a partner of the CRM and contributes to the organization of the S\u00e9minaire de math\u00e9matiques sup\u00e9rieures (SMS).<\/p>\n

Since 2024, the Society for Mathematical Biology (SMB) has joined the CRM as an institutional partner. This new partnership aims to help students, postdocs and young researchers travel to and attend future SMB annual meetings through the CRM Travel Fund.<\/p>\n

The CRM has recently collaborated with UNESCO; the Institut des Hautes \u00c9tudes Scientifiques (IH\u00c9S); the Institut Henri Poincar\u00e9 (IHP); the ALGANT (Algebra, Geometry and Number Theory) consortium of the Erasmus Mundus network; ICMAT of the Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cient\u00edficas (Spain); the Czech Technical University in Prague; Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA); the Instituto Nacional de Matematica Pura e Aplicada (IMPA, Brazil); and the School of Mathematics of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (India).<\/p>\n

The CRM has current bilateral agreements with the Centre international des rencontres scientifiques (CIRM) and the Center for Geometry and Physics of the Institute for Basic Science (Pohang, Republic of Korea), and the CRM has bilateral agreements with the Centre international des rencontres scientifiques (CIRM) in Marseille, France, with the Centre de Recerca Matem\u00e0tica in Barcelona, Spain, and with the Center for Geometry and Physics of the Institute for Basic Science in Pohang, South Korea.
