Before joining NSERC, he was CEO and Scientific Director of Mitacs\u00a0(2015\u201319). Prior to that, he served as Director (2008\u20132015) of the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Janice Bailey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-6871\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27139%27%20height%3D%27163%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20139%20163%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27139%27%20height%3D%27163%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/janicebailey.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"139\" height=\"163\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Janice L. Bailey obtained a PhD in animal reproduction from the University of Guelph in 1992 and a postdoctoral position in reproductive biology from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1994. As a researcher, she is attached to the Centre de recherche en reproduction, d\u00e9veloppement et sant\u00e9 interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnelle of Universit\u00e9 Laval, as well as the R\u00e9seau qu\u00e9b\u00e9cois en reproduction.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Marie-Jos\u00e9e H\u00e9bert<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-6873\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27146%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20135%20146%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27146%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/marie-joseehebert.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"146\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Marie-Jos\u00e9e H\u00e9bert is a nephrologist-transplanter and researcher at the CHUM, a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine and the Shire Chair in Nephrology and Renal Transplantation and Regeneration of the University of Montreal. She holds a specialized diploma in nephrology from the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al and postdoctoral training at Harvard University. She is also co-director of the National Transplantation Research Program of Canada.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yoshua Bengio<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-6881\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27136%27%20height%3D%27144%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20136%20144%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27136%27%20height%3D%27144%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/yoshuabengio.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"136\" height=\"144\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Recognized worldwide as one of the leading experts in artificial intelligence,\u00a0Yoshua Bengio is most known for his pioneering work in deep learning, earning him the 2018 A.M. Turing Award with Geoffrey Hinton and Yann LeCun. He is a Professor at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, and the Founder and Scientific Director of Mila \u2013 Quebec AI Institute.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-6877\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27163%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20135%20163%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27163%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/nathaliedemarcellis-warin.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"163\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Nathalie de Marcellis-Warin is a Professor at Polytechnique Montr\u00e9al in the Department of Mathematics and Industrial Engineering and a Visiting Scientist at the Harvard Center for Risk Analysis, Department of Environmental Health at Harvard T. Chan School of Public Health. She is the CEO of CIRANO since 2016. She was one of the contributors to the Montreal Declaration for a Responsible Development of AI.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andrew Granville<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-6869\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27129%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20135%20129%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27129%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/andrewgranville.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"129\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Andrew Granville is a Professor at the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al since 2002. He was an invited speaker at the 1994 International Congress of Mathematicians and is one of the world&#8217;s most recognized experts in analytic number theory. At the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al, he has developed an outstanding school in this field, the strength of which is underlined by the Fields Medal awarded in 2022 to one of his former postdoctoral researcher, James Maynard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Morgan Craig<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-6875\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27165%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20135%20165%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27165%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/morgancraig.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"165\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Morgan Craig is a Researcher at the Sainte-Justine University Hospital Research Centre and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Montreal. She received her PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Montreal, after which she was a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Organismic and Evolutionary Biology of Harvard University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Octav Cornea<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignnone size-full wp-image-6879\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27181%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20135%20181%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27135%27%20height%3D%27181%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.crmath.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/octavcornea.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"135\" height=\"181\" \/>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UdeM since 2003, he works in topology.\u00a0 He was invited speaker at the Mathematical Congress of the Americas in 2013.
